Job description

Job Description The Deposit Operations Manager is responsible for all functions of the Deposit Operations department to include employee performance and development, ensuring that compliance is maintained, and department goals and job standards are met. Performs other projects and duties as assigned. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities: Ensure that all employees understand and maintain compliance with bank policies, procedures and applicable laws/regulations, especially the Bank Secrecy Act, the Anti-Money Laundering Act and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

Develop, coach and train staff. Manage staff performance through regular scheduled performance appraisals and staff meetings to achieve individual and department goals. Provide support to retail and operations to include all branches and departments.

Maintain relations and service with all vendors. Submit proposals and price analysis recommendations to management and appropriate committee in support of that relationship. Maintain and update departmental procedures to meet the compliance standards.

Ensure Deposit Operations functions and tasks are completed in accordance with department standards and procedures. Oversee daily operations and ensure that all job standards are met and department goals are achieved. Perform testing of new releases and service upgrades on the FIS System relative to the Deposit System.

Identify and implement changes which will increase productivity and / or reduce cost to the bank. Oversee data mapping, testing and implementation of conversions due to branch and/or bank acquisitions for Deposits (checking, savings, CDs, IRAs) and Safe Deposit Box. Submit IT request for of new products; changing / adding fees and interest rate changes relative to Deposits.

Testing of those submissions once IT has completed changes on Test System. Perform IRA year end statement processing and deposit tax forms. Ensure that all relevant reports and records are retained in compliance with the Bank's retention schedule.

Ensure compliance and assistance with internal and external audits. Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: Strong oral and written communication skills. Sound critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.

Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency. Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations by phone, email or in person.

Able to effectively express self, using language and grammar in a professional manner, and respond to common inquiries from internal and external customers. Able to plan, develop and organize professional schedule to achieve goals within or ahead of established time frames. Able to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw sound conclusions, and present findings.

Able to perform accurate calculations and transactions. Industry and Work Experience: Minimum of 8 years' banking experience in a Deposit Operations environment. Prior Bank Operations experience relative to maintenance on deposit accounts, including checking, savings, CDs/IRAs, as well as account reconcilements.

Previous supervisory experience required. Academic: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
