About the role.

The Forward Deployment Engineer Manager- Marketing is responsible for setting the Forward Deployment Engineering (FDE) skill bar at McCain, developing the FDE community, and leading the Yellow-portfolio FDE talent pool. This player-coach leadership role combines practice leadership, capability development, and hands-on engagement delivery. Reporting to the VP, Artificial Intelligence, the role partners closely with business stakeholders, engineering leaders, and AI teams to drive measurable business impact through AI-enabled solutions while ensuring consistent standards, coaching, and professional development across the FDE practice.

What you'll be doing.

  • Establish and maintain the Forward Deployment Engineering practice, including role standards, career pathways, and capability development programs.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop FDE talent through structured feedback, hands-on support, and ongoing professional growth opportunities.
  • Lead hiring, talent calibration, and performance management activities for the Yellow-portfolio FDE team.
  • Manage the allocation and deployment of FDE resources across Yellow-priority business initiatives, balancing business needs with development objectives.
  • Personally lead selected AI engagements and use cases while serving as a player-coach for FDE team members.
  • Partner with Marketing stakeholders to identify opportunities, drive adoption, and deliver measurable business outcomes through AI-enabled solutions.
  • Collaborate with AI Platform & Engineering, Knowledge Engineering, AI Deployment & Enablement, and Governance teams to deliver successful use cases.
  • Develop and maintain FDE playbooks, engagement methodologies, and best practices that can be scaled across the organization.
  • Influence senior business and technology leaders while driving alignment across priorities, resources, and outcomes.
  • Ensure all engagements adhere to McCain Responsible AI, security, governance, and compliance standards.

What you'll need to be successful.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience leading complex business, customer, consulting, transformation, or technology engagements.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams, practices, or senior individual contributors.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Marketing business functions, including areas such as Brand Marketing, Consumer Insights, Customer Marketing, Digital Marketing, Media & Advertising, Marketing Analytics, Product Marketing, Innovation, or Go-to-Market Strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully operate in a player-coach capacity, balancing direct delivery responsibilities with talent development.
  • Strong ability to influence executives, business stakeholders, and technical leaders without direct authority.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable business value and driving adoption of innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), foodservice, consulting, digital transformation, or AI-enabled organizations is considered an asset.
  • Passion for coaching, developing talent, and building high-performing communities of practice.

The Forward Deployment Manager - Marketing is part of McCain's Artificial Intelligence organization and reports directly to the VP, Artificial Intelligence. This role provides leadership for the Yellow-portfolio Forward Deployment Engineering community while partnering closely with business sponsors, AI Platform & Engineering, Knowledge Engineering, AI Deployment & Enablement, and Governance teams. The position plays a critical role in scaling AI adoption, developing FDE talent, and driving business value through cross-functional AI initiatives

Compensation Package:$111,700.00 -$149,000.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
