Job description

Expected Pay Range: $39 - $49/Hour
Summary and Scope
The Child Well-Being Specialist will support the Child Well-Being program by providing direct interventions and recommendations for operational and environmental adjustments as it relates to child well-being.
Essential Functions
  • Monitor and observe the physical environment, individual interactions, and verbal and non-verbal conversations to assess child welfare concerns and ensure proper interactions between facility staff, family members, and children.
  • Serve as a resource by advising and supporting facility decision-making involving complex child well-being concerns.
  • Assist facility partners in documenting and transferring information for individual cases.
  • Provide crisis support, interventions in emergency situations, and assist with de- escalation of children and parents.
  • Deliver ongoing education and provide facility partners requested tools to respond to specific situations with children and provide other insights into culturally sensitive care.
  • Support children by providing resources that are child-friendly from a multicultural perspective while accounting for language diversity.
  • Submit documentation to leadership promptly including daily recommendations based on environmental walkthrough checklists, end of shift logs, and case notes documented in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
  • Required: Master's Degree in Behavioral Health or related field
  • Required: Full, current, and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Doctor-level prepared psychologist (LP), or equivalent.

Experience
  • Required: 2+ years demonstrated post-licensure work experience in child development, culturally aware and trauma-centered care, performing clinical evaluations in direct engagement with children and their families
  • Required: 1+ year experience working in a multidisciplinary team-based environment
  • Desired: 1+ year experience in an immigration setting
  • Desired: Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see, hear, sit for extended periods, stand, walk, engage in repetitive motions, and use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, tools, or controls. May lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Expected Hours of Work
The ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs. It is expected for this position to attend regular meetings during typical work hours in Eastern Standard Time as well as meetings as needed for assigned projects in other time zones.
Work Environment
This position operates in professional office, facilities, and field environments. We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions. The position routinely uses standard office equipment, hand tools, site equipment and vehicles, and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. There is an expectation of clear written and verbal communication in English.
Travel
Travel is dependent on contract load. The ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required. Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours' notice.
Work Authorization
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, occupational health physical and lift test (if applicable), credit check, and a background check upon accepting a conditional offer of employment.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license. Have/maintain a clean driving record.
