Dentist Place of Performance: Pocahontas, VA A-Team Solutions is seeking a Dentist for a position at a local correctional facility in Pocahontas, VA for up to (32) thirty two hours weekly. Responsibilities: Major Duties: 1. Provide emergency and routine dental care including but not limited to examinations, treatment planning and classification, restorative dentistry including amalgam and resin restorations, minor oral surgery including simple and complex extractions, biopsy, wound repair and TMJ consultation, endodontics, removable prosthodontics consisting of complete and partial dentures, denture repairs and relines, oral hygiene and preventive services and miscellaneous adjunctive procedures. Some non-surgical periodontal therapy may be indicated. Regarding oral experience with impacted third molars. Implant maintenance is possible as well as repair or adjustment of fixed bridgework. Endodontics may consist of treatment of single or multiple rooted teeth. 2. Record a summary of the problems and/or symptoms, the diagnosis or diagnostic hypotheses, treatments, medications, and/or any other appropriate information in each patient’s dental chart at the conclusion of every consultation. 3. Adhere to the DOC Formulary, and medically justify any deviations to the Health Services Director or designee. 4. Consult with the Health Services Director or designee regarding care of offenders when treatment questions arise. 5. Immediately notify the Health Services Director or designee if license or hospital privileges are denied, suspended or revoked; if any malpractice claims are filed; if any professional disciplinary action is taken; or if he/she has any physical, mental or emotional problems which might impact performance of assigned duties. 6. Make referrals to specialists when necessary. Use on-site clinic space provided by the facility during scheduled visits. Utilize the services of Health Services personnel employed by the facility. Provide additional visits to the facility in the event of emergency if required (telephone call may be sufficient). Provide an alternate dentist for coverage during the Provider’s absence. The alternate must be approved in advance by the Health Services Director (Attachment I). The alternate must abide by the same Scope of Services as the Provider. The use of midlevel health care practitioners (i.e. Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, etc.) must be approved in advance by the Department’s Health Services Director. Qualifications: Requirements: • A Curriculum Vitae that includes the following minimum credentials: • Doctor of Dentistry or degree from an accredited , dental school • Copy of graduate dental or training (residency/fellowship). • Current, valid license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Virginia • Current and valid Board certification • Current and valid DEA certificate • Current and valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) • Verification of any hospital privileges (except optometry) A-Team Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
