Responsibilities
What You'll Do
As a Dental Hygienist at Big Smile Dental, you'll play an essential role in helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles while delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Building strong relationships with patients and creating a comfortable, positive experience
- Performing dental cleaning, periodontal maintenance, and preventive care services
- Educating patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care
- Reviewing medical histories and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Taking and evaluating digital radiographs
- Collaborating with dentists to identify treatment needs and support patient care
- Administering prophylactic treatments, including scaling and polishing
- Documenting existing restorations and periodontal conditions
- Maintaining compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current Virginia Dental Hygienist License
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for patient education and preventive care
- Knowledge of periodontal therapy and oral health best practices
- Experience with dental practice management software preferred
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong collaboration skills
