Responsibilities
What You'll Do
As a Dental Hygienist at Big Smile Dental, you'll play an essential role in helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles while delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities include:
  • Building strong relationships with patients and creating a comfortable, positive experience
  • Performing dental cleaning, periodontal maintenance, and preventive care services
  • Educating patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care
  • Reviewing medical histories and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
  • Taking and evaluating digital radiographs
  • Collaborating with dentists to identify treatment needs and support patient care
  • Administering prophylactic treatments, including scaling and polishing
  • Documenting existing restorations and periodontal conditions
  • Maintaining compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
Qualifications
  • Current Virginia Dental Hygienist License
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for patient education and preventive care
  • Knowledge of periodontal therapy and oral health best practices
  • Experience with dental practice management software preferred
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong collaboration skills
