General Dentist January 3-Day Blocks Newport News, VA

A well-supported dental practice in Newport News, Virginia, is seeking a general dentist for maternity leave coverage, with possible December dates and multiple January blocks available. This opportunity offers consistent daytime hours, a broad restorative scope, and an experienced clinical support team.


The team includes three registered dental hygienists, two dental assistants, two front desk professionals, and one sterilization technician to maintain an efficient workflow.


The Role:
  • Location: Newport News, VA 23602
  • Schedule: Possible December dates; January 4 6 and
  • Hours: 7:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.
  • Patient Volume: patients per day, including three columns of hygiene checks
  • Clinical Scope: Exams, fillings, crowns, bridges, and partial dentures
  • Tech Stack: Open Dental
  • Preferred Skills: Comfort managing restorative procedures and multiple hygiene-check columns in a fast-paced general dentistry setting
  • Compensation: Competitive weekly pay + comprehensive malpractice insurance coverage. Travel and lodging may be provided for the right candidate.

What is Needed:
  • Credentials: Active Virginia license, current DEA registration, and current BLS certification.
  • Onboarding: 1 2 week fast-track onboarding, with insurance credentialing taking up to 90 days.
  • Practice Fit: A confident, efficient dentist who communicates clearly, works well with an established support team, and is comfortable maintaining a steady patient flow.
