The Practice Manager oversees the daily operations of the oncology practice offices enabling the practice to carry out its daily work with the highest level of quality and compassionate patient care effectively and efficiently. Responsible for financial oversight, scheduling and assigning work, identifying and resolving problems, collecting data, implementing goals, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and carrying an assigned workload or filling in as necessary. This position requires excellent communication/interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, providers, vendors and staff.
Education/Certification:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Associate's degree preferred or 10 years of healthcare experience
  • Clinical experience in an oncology setting preferred
Experience:
  • 5+ years experience in oncology practice management or a related healthcare management role.
  • 3-5 years in a management/supervisory role.
  • 2+ years employee relations experience preferred.
Competencies:
  • Proven working knowledge of oncology care practice management, operations, procedures and treatment protocols.
  • Ability to compile data from various sources and to analyze and interpret the data in order to provide alternatives and make recommendations.
  • Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to use Quickbooks
  • Familiarity with EHR systems, medical equipment and healthcare technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to manage projects from initiation to completion within prescribed schedules and utilization of resources.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function in stressful situations. Utilizes critical thinking skills sound judgement in priority setting and delegation.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and resolution and follow-through on issues that may arise.
