Job description

The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is seeking remote-based applications for a fellowship with the Party's Candidate Support team through the November 2026 election. Fellows will be trained and have opportunities to gain hands-on experience by supporting the FDP's candidate slates.

Take Back Local is the FDP's core candidate support program. Since its launch, it has supported over 70 local candidates, with an average 70% win rate, helping local Democrats build strong, well-run campaigns and win tough elections, even in the reddest parts of our state.

This fellowship is geared toward training those with an interest in working directly with candidates and their campaign teams, including:

  • Voter contact for Take Back Local candidates, which includes Phone Banking and Text Banking
  • Volunteer recruitment for campaign-related activities
  • Creating digital materials for Take Back Local candidates
  • Special projects for candidates participating in the Take Back Local program, as needed

Fellows will be required to set a part-time schedule of 12 hours per week for eight weeks, from Monday, September 14th, 2026 to Friday, November 6th, 2026. Fellows will earn a stipend of $1,500 at the end of the program. A reliable computer is required for this role.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous campaign/political/organizing experience a plus, but not required
  • Experienced or comfortable making direct calls to voters
  • High level of personal responsibility
  • Ability to work week nights and weekends as necessary
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to maintain calm and positive demeanor under pressure
  • Ability to work well with others and respect opinions
  • Close attention to detail
  • Commitment to Democratic principles
  • Strong public speaking skills are preferred
