Position Overview

The Family Insight Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Geriatric Mental Health Counselor (Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC) who specializes in providing mental health support to the elderly. This role is integral to our mission of enhancing the mental well-being and quality of life of seniors in our community. The ideal candidate will possess the clinical expertise necessary to assess and address the unique mental health challenges faced by older adults.

Work Environment

This full-time position allows for remote work, providing flexibility while maintaining our high standards of service. Regular operational hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. As a vital member of our team, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals and engage with clients in a caring and supportive manner, all while emphasizing the importance of work-life balance for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to determine individual care needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to assist seniors in processing their emotions related to aging, loss, and life changes.
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare specialists to create and implement holistic care plans that promote the overall well-being of clients.
  • Offer educational resources and workshops for families and staff, equipping them with strategies to support seniors in managing emotional challenges.
  • Deliver grief counseling and end-of-life support for seniors and their families, addressing the profound emotional impact of loss.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to conduct cognitive stimulation programs aimed at enhancing mental stimulation and memory retention among elderly clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on senior clients who encounter various mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, grief, and dementia-related issues. In this role, you will leverage your clinical skills to tailor therapies that affirm the dignity and autonomy of older adults while addressing their specific emotional and psychological needs.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license.
  • Minimum of four years of recent experience providing mental health services with a focus on geriatric clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with older adults experiencing age-related challenges and mental health conditions.
  • Additional training or certifications in geriatric mental health or aging-related issues is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in implementing therapeutic techniques that are evidence-based to improve the mental health outcomes for seniors.
Compensation and Benefits
