Willow Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team in Gresham, Oregon. This full-time position allows for remote work while contributing to an outpatient office setting that specifically addresses the nuanced mental health needs of the geriatric population. As a key member of our mental health team, you will provide compassionate care, conduct thorough assessments, and develop tailored treatment plans aimed at enhancing the quality of life for our elderly clients experiencing a range of psychiatric conditions.

Our work environment is centered around flexibility and collaboration. The therapist will operate primarily from a remote setting, although occasional office attendance for meetings and team interactions may be required. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although some evening shifts may be necessary to accommodate patient needs. • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the unique physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of older adults.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that consider factors such as cognitive changes and social dynamics.
• Provide evidence-based therapy options including individual counseling and family therapy, focusing on effective resolutions for geriatric psychiatric conditions.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including geriatric psychiatrists and general healthcare providers, to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
• Offer crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies involving elderly patients, ensuring swift and appropriate responses.
• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, proposed treatment paths, and available community resources that can assist in their journey.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress in compliance with legal requirements.
• Participate proactively in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development seminars to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
• Stay current with ongoing research, innovative methodologies, and best practices within the field of geriatric psychiatry.

The focus of our practice centers on the geriatric population, addressing concerns that are often complex and multifaceted. As a licensed mental health therapist, you will engage with elderly clients who may be experiencing issues related to depression, anxiety, dementia, and adjustment challenges. Your expertise will be crucial in improving their mental well-being, thereby enhancing their overall quality of life.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Oregon is essential.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred, demonstrating a sound understanding of relevant methodologies.
• Thorough knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Experience in providing therapeutic interventions to elderly clients and their families.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
• Ability to establish rapport and build trust with elderly clients and their family members.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and familiarity with relevant software applications.
• A collaborative mindset, willing to engage actively with diverse members of the healthcare team.

• Experience in geriatric psychiatry or working directly within a geriatric mental health setting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and support mechanisms for elderly populations.
• Participation in ongoing training and education in geriatric mental health practices.
