Effective demand planning helps businesses improve service levels, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.

What are some of the main challenges faced in demand planning?

One of the primary challenges in demand planning is managing unpredictable fluctuations in customer demand, which requires constant adjustment of forecasts and close coordination with sales and operations teams. Demand planners must also balance the need to minimize stockouts without overstocking, which can impact working capital and customer satisfaction. Additionally, integrating and analyzing large amounts of historical sales data from multiple sources can be complex. Tackling these challenges effectively is highly valued by employers, as it ensures supply chains run efficiently and business goals are met.
