Job description

Demand Planner

Most demand planning roles ask you to maintain a forecast.

This one asks you to influence a business.

I'm working with a food and beverage manufacturer that has spent the last 18 months investing heavily in its planning capability, systems and people. The foundations are now in place.

The next hire isn't being brought in to build spreadsheets.

They're being brought in to help the business make better decisions.

You'll sit between Sales, Supply Chain and Operations, acting as the bridge between commercial ambition and operational reality.

Using tools including SAP S/4HANA, GIB Planning, Blue Planner and Power BI, you'll be responsible for turning data into insight, challenging assumptions, improving forecast quality and helping stakeholders understand what's really happening behind the numbers.

The role is particularly well suited to someone who enjoys the commercial side of planning.

Someone who wants exposure to senior leadership.

Someone who enjoys asking questions, challenging assumptions and influencing decisions rather than simply reporting on them.

You'll work closely with Sales Leadership, support major retail accounts, lead planning discussions and help drive the next phase of planning maturity within the business.

The environment is changing, evolving and moving forward.

For the right person, that's where the opportunity lies.

Not because everything is perfect.

But because you'll have the chance to leave your fingerprints on how the function develops over the coming years.

We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability with commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.

Someone who enjoys understanding the story behind the forecast rather than simply producing it.

You'll likely have experience in:

  • Forecasting
  • S&OP
  • Integrated Business Planning
  • Food, Beverage or Consumer Goods manufacturing

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

  • SAP S/4HANA
  • SAP IBP
  • GIB Planning
  • Blue Yonder / Blue Planner
  • Power BI
  • Statistical Forecasting tools
  • Master Data management

Why consider it?

  • High visibility across Sales, Supply Chain and Leadership teams
  • Opportunity to influence planning decisions rather than simply support them
  • Significant investment in systems, technology and planning capability
  • Collaborative team environment with strong leadership support
  • Genuine opportunity to help shape the future direction of the planning function
  • Hybrid working arrangement (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
  • Summer Fridays and a culture that values work-life balance

Location: Landover, MD

Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 + 12% Bonus

If you're a planner who enjoys solving commercial problems, influencing stakeholders and turning data into action, I'd be happy to share more.
