Job description

The Senior Manager, Financial Systems is responsible for leading the administration, governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of Intrepid' s financial systems environment, with primary ownership of Deltek Costpoint and associated applications. Reporting to the Vice President, Program Finance, this role serves as the function leader for financial systems and the key bridge between Finance, Accounting, Contracts, HR, IT, and other business stakeholders, ensuring financial systems support accurate reporting, efficient workflows, strong internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable government contracting requirements, including FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA expectations.

The role acts as both the day-to-day system owner and the business-facing leader for finance systems initiatives, including user administration, configuration, reporting, integrations, upgrades, testing, documentation, and process improvement. Intrepid currently operates three Deltek Costpoint instances under active re-implementation; the Manager will help define and advance the consolidation and strategic roadmap, driving a hub-and-spoke approach in which Costpoint remains the core financial system of record and complementary applications are aligned to support planning, reporting, labor, contracts, and operational workflows.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in a government contractor environment, including Costpoint administration, financial and project accounting processes, multi-entity data structures, system controls, and audit readiness. This leader should also help modernize the back office through practical use of automation, workflow redesign, and agentic AI capabilities to streamline recurring support, reporting, exception monitoring, and other finance-systems activities while maintaining appropriate governance and control discipline.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deltek Costpoint Administration & Strategic Roadmap

  • Own day-to-day administration, configuration, and governance of Deltek Costpoint and related financial applications across three active instances, ensuring stable operation across the financial systems environment.
  • Serve as the primary business owner and subject matter expert for Costpoint and associated tools, including user access, role design, security administration, and segregation-of-duties controls.
  • Define and advance the Deltek Costpoint strategic roadmap, including module optimization, release planning, upgrades, enhancements, instance consolidation, and integration priorities aligned with finance and business needs.
  • Configure and maintain Costpoint modules and related workflows across General Ledger, Projects, Contracts, Billing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Time & Expense, and Fixed Assets, as applicable.
  • Lead testing, validation, deployment, and change management for system updates, patches, upgrades, and new functionality; coordinate with Deltek support, internal IT, and third-party vendors as needed.

Reporting, Analytics & Business Insight

  • Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reporting using COGNOS, Costpoint dashboards, and other BI tools; support financial reporting, operational reporting, and management insight across accounting, FP&A, contracts, and program finance teams.
  • Support FP&A, program finance, and pricing teams with system-enabled access to data, reporting, and analysis needed for forecasting, EAC management, and strategic decision-making.

Compliance, Controls & Audit Readiness

  • Support financial close, project accounting, contract setup, billing, labor, and reporting processes by ensuring system design and data structures align with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and government contracting requirements.
  • Help maintain audit-ready financial systems data and reporting in support of DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, indirect rate support, external audit requests, and other compliance-related reviews.
  • Strengthen data governance, master data discipline, and control visibility across legal entities, divisions, projects, contracts, and reporting hierarchies.
  • Maintain system documentation, process maps, user procedures, and training materials to support consistent use, governance, and knowledge transfer across the organization.

Automation, Process Improvement & Team Leadership

  • Evaluate and support the practical use of automation, intelligent workflows, and agentic AI capabilities to streamline recurring finance-systems activities, improve issue triage, accelerate report production, strengthen exception monitoring, and reduce manual administrative effort while maintaining appropriate review controls.
  • Supervise and develop Financial Systems Analysts, including prioritization of work, issue resolution, stakeholder support, and continuous development of team capabilities.
  • Partner with the contractor Costpoint SME through re-implementation stabilization; assume permanent ownership of the financial systems function post-stabilization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Seven or more years of progressive hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint administration and optimization in a government contracting environment, including demonstrated leadership of financial systems initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience with Costpoint user setup, configuration, reporting, security, upgrades, testing, and issue resolution.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, project accounting, billing, labor, payroll, and financial reporting processes in a federal government contracting environment.
  • Experience supporting multi-entity and/or multi-division organizations strongly preferred; experience with Costpoint instance consolidation a meaningful differentiator.
  • Experience with integrations between Costpoint and HR, payroll, labor, contracts, BI, or other enterprise applications strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with COGNOS required; broader BI and analytics experience is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP-supported accounting processes and applicable government contracting requirements, including FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA expectations as they relate to financial systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, project management, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable system and process solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Finance, Accounting, HR, Contracts, Operations, and IT.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, process-driven leader with sound judgment and a continuous-improvement mindset.

TRAVEL: Travel: 10-15%, or as needed based on business requirements

SECURITY CLEARANCE: ability to obtain a Secret or Top-Secret clearance preferred, based on organizational need; active Secret clearance a plus.
