Work You'll Do

As a Tax Senior Consultant within Deloitte's Business Tax Services group, you will support federal tax compliance, planning, controversy, research, and consulting engagements for public and private companies across industries. You will review partnership, corporate, and individual federal tax returns and related workpapers; coordinate with client tax and finance teams on compliance and planning data; and review income tax provisions prepared under ASC 740. You will also research federal tax legislation, contribute to projects involving tax planning, restructuring, controversy, and accounting for income taxes, assist with engagement workflow management, and supervise Tax Consultants and interns on assigned engagements. ASC 740 governs the accounting for income taxes and related tax effects in financial reporting.

Our professionals combine technical tax expertise, industry knowledge, technology, and specialized resources to help clients address global tax challenges, improve tax-function efficiency, and make informed decisions. The practice provides a broad range of services, including tax planning and compliance, tax controversy and risk management, research and development and government incentives, and tax management consulting. As part of the team, you will collaborate with subject-matter experts and industry specialists to help clients navigate complex tax requirements and strengthen the impact of their tax functions. Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in federal taxation
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
    • If not CPA eligible:
      • Licensed Attorney
      • Enrolled Agent
      • Certifications:
        • Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
        • Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
  • Preparation and review experience of federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Preferred:
  • Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
  • Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $74,925 to $153,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
