Position Overview
Rider University invites applications for the position of Warehouse Clerk. The Warehouse Clerk will coordinate the daily warehouse operations and mail/parcel distribution to the campus community by receiving deliveries at the loading dock and mail room. Individual will:
  • Organize freight tickets, packing slips, and purchase order forms to be facilitated for timely processing;
  • Coordinate with contracted mail services for the mail pickup from the U.S. Post Office, as well as sorting and campus distribution;
  • Procure items as needed and rotate stock as necessary;
  • Assist with the established shredding procedures;
  • Maintain clean and organized warehouses; and
  • Review and complete daily work orders in a timely manner.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of warehouse experience.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the diverse needs of job with heavy lifting.
  • Certified to operate a forklift.
  • Demonstrated ability to use pallet jacks, dollies and hand trucks.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and have strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in mailroom or warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in a work order based system.
