Position Overview

The Senior Delivery Manager serves as the lead field authority for delivery operations within the market. This role remains actively engaged in day-to-day delivery execution while ensuring consistency, accountability, and alignment across all delivery teams.

While remaining hands-on in delivery operations, this role provides guidance and operational direction to Delivery Managers to ensure unified execution across the market.

This position reinforces market-wide compliance standards, accident enforcement structure, and driver qualification oversight while driving operational performance at scale.

This position offers compensation of $100,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

Market-Level Leadership & Strategic Alignment

  • Provide operational direction and strategic alignment for all Delivery Managers within the designated market(s).
  • Ensure the consistent execution of delivery standards, safety protocols, and overarching service expectations.
  • Strategically balance labor and workload distribution across various delivery teams to optimize efficiency during peak volume periods.
  • Act as the primary escalation point to resolve complex field-level issues.

Active Field Leadership & Execution

  • Maintain a hands-on presence and active involvement in daily delivery operations.
  • Conduct comprehensive cross-team audits to evaluate installation quality and strict adherence to execution standards.
  • Champion and support structured training and professional development initiatives for delivery personnel.

Performance Management & KPI Optimization

  • Monitor critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), specifically focusing on on-time performance, damage rates, workforce productivity, and customer experience metrics.
  • Formulate and implement targeted corrective action plans across teams whenever performance gaps are identified.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to support operational forecasting and optimal staffing alignment.

Safety, Regulatory Compliance, & Risk Mitigation

  • Assume market-level ownership for guaranteeing full compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements across all delivery teams.
  • Enforce the company's accident reporting policy at the market level, ensuring all incidents are accurately documented within required timeframes.
  • Conduct thorough post-incident reviews and guarantee the swift implementation of necessary corrective measures.
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Operations leadership regarding disciplinary decisions.
  • Work with your market's Safety Coordinator to maintain meticulously organized accident records to facilitate audits and insurance reviews.
  • Oversee market-level driver qualification file compliance, ensuring absolute accuracy, audit readiness, and conducting periodic documentation audits within company platforms.
  • Immediately escalate any systemic compliance risks to upper management.
  • Mandate the consistent enforcement of company policies regarding field reporting and direct-to-site commuting requirements.

Fleet Management & Oversight

  • Monitor overall fleet readiness and ensure strict compliance with vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Identify and escalate any recurring vehicle issues or related compliance concerns.
  • Verify that all vehicles consistently meet Vesta's rigorous operational and presentation standards.

Requirements

  • Experience managing and leading delivery teams or delivery managers.
  • Hands-on experience overseeing daily delivery operations and field execution.
  • Ability to track and improve operational KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, damage rates, workforce productivity).
  • Strong understanding of DOT and FMCSA safety and compliance regulations.
  • Experience managing accident reporting, post-incident reviews, and safety audits.
  • Background in overseeing vehicle fleets, including maintenance schedules and presentation standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex field escalations and implement corrective actions.
  • A valid and clean driver's license with appropriate endorsements for operating box trucks.
  • Ability to take clear, accurate photos of a space for documentation pre- and post- work.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving box trucks, as well as furniture delivery and setup.
  • Strong team-work and communications skills, with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist others.
  • Strong physical capability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy furniture items. (Items that weigh 50 lbs. or more require the assistance of another person).
  • Basic familiarity with tools such as drills, hammers, and levels is a plus. But on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams professionally. Conversational English required.
  • Must be dependable and punctual, consistently delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Comfortable using technology and able to quickly learn new systems and tools, including, but not limited to: digital DVIR software, Slack, Google Suite, etc.
