Grocery Store Apprentice Meat Cutter

Position Summary:

Location: South King County, WA (Multiple Store Locations)

Employment Duration Full time

Pay Range: $17.38 to $21.90 (Depending on Experience)

Hours Per Week Up to 40

Description

Super Saver Foods is seeking a grocery store apprentice meat cutter. We are an eight-store grocery store chain who is looking for a hard-working candidate who can work in a team environment. Our meat cutters are tasked with a diverse array of job tasks that require them to multi-task and work with a very high sense of urgency. Our meat cutters work with a wide variety of meats and are asked to perform a wide variety of different cuts on a daily basis. As an apprentice meat cutter you would be working with experienced meat cutter learning the duties and skills required to be an experienced grocery store meat cutter

Duties:

· Cutting and preparing different varieties of meats and seafood

· Check-in and verify meat supplier deliveries

· Maintaining, rotating and filling meat department items in the fresh meat case

· Stock and rotate prepackaged deli meat items and frozen food items that fall under the meat department

· Assist customers in locating items and provide them with product information

· Off stack and rotate meat department loads

· Provide excellent customer service

Qualifications

· Must be 18 years of age.

· By start date, will need a valid Washington State food handler’s card.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Work in an environment that includes cold temperatures and wet conditions.

· Able to multitask efficiently and be task oriented at all times.

· Work well independently and also with a team.

· Physical stamina.

· Standing and/or moving for long periods of time.

· Able to lift up to 100 pounds.

· Able to work with knifes and saws for cutting meat.

· Available to work mornings, days and evenings, seven days a week.
