Job description


Position: Ambassador 1
Department: Marketing
Job Summary: Staffs the Player's Club office and issues cards to new members as well as assists guests with inquiries, transactions, and information concerning points, comps, and current/upcoming promotions. Actively recruits new memberships.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
  1. Acknowledges, greets, and converses with guests on the gaming floor.
  2. Promotes the Casino Del Sol Resort by interacting with guests in an enthusiastic, helpful, and friendly manner.
  3. Creates and issues rewards cards and promotes the Player's Club program and related promotions.
  4. Performs data entry on new or changed membership information.
  5. Issues point vouchers and complimentaries as designated by guest account information.
  6. Ensures accuracy of data entry records and maintains confidentiality of guest information.
  7. Ensures the confidentiality of information and protection of guest rewards.
  8. Helps facilitate special events and slot promotions.
  9. Notifies management or lead of guest needs and requests they are unable to handle; follows up to ensure needs were met.
  10. Meets department goals and quotas which includes 70% or more in mandatory data collection.
  11. Produces and delivers club material.
  12. Maintains a constant awareness of all Casino Del Sol Resort's services, promotions, and events.
  13. Fosters team work by working collaboratively with coworkers and ensuring that work is completed that brings credit to the team.
  14. Adheres to applicable regulatory, departmental, and Casino Del Sol Resort's policies and procedures.
  15. Stands at main entrance and greets guests, when applicable.
  16. Presents a well-groomed appearance at all times.
  17. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Knowledge of Casino Del Sol Resort's services, promotions, and events.
  2. Knowledge of applicable regulatory, departmental and Casino Del Sol Resort's policies and procedures.
  3. Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  4. Computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  5. Good communication skills.
  6. Skill in working courteously with the public as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  7. Ability to generate business by signing up guests for the Player's Club program and encouraging use of the club card.
  8. Ability to respond calmly and diplomatically when handling guest demands.
  9. Ability to keep aware of the constant changes and enhancements of the Player's Club program and its benefits.
  10. Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a fast paced environment.
  11. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations pertaining to the position.
  12. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  13. Ability to work in a smoking environment.
  14. Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  15. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  16. Ability to operate office equipment such as a photocopier, fax machine, and ten key.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Six months guest service experience, AND ability to read, write, speak, and understand English AND computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  2. Must successfully pass competency assessment.
  3. Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  4. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
  5. Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
  6. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  7. Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid gaming license.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. High school or General Equivalency Diploma.
  2. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  3. Previous commission, telemarketing, or retail sales experience.
