Job description

Hello! We are looking for a dedicated Production Supervisor to join the team! Del Real Foods is a traditional Mexican food manufacturer born out of a family farm. Today, Del Real Food makes tamales, carnitas, salsas, and other recipes inspired by the Cardenas' native Jalisco -- all created by hand with fresh ingredients and nothing artificial.

The Production Supervisor has primary responsibility for consistently exceeding safety standards in producing highest quality defect-free products with most efficient use of resources in the industry. The Production Supervisor directly supervises hourly skilled production team members to ensure customer orders are produced for on time delivery and maximum customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Provides leadership on workplace safety, occupational health, and food safety initiatives with hourly production team members.

2. Maintains safety/environmental self-audits & visual checks, champions all safety or ergonomic activities for the department and helps to develop and meet plant safety goals.

3. Ensures understanding of and compliance with all food safety, USDA, HACCP, and Company policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements

4. Adheres to product specification requirements throughout the manufacturing process to maintain the desired product quality results.

5. Maintains adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly.

6. Plan the day to day allocation of resources (equipment, team members, materials and systems) in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve performance targets to production schedule.

7. Document daily production activities and review results against established targets and report variances during on-the-floor and review meetings.

8. Review daily maintenance effectiveness and work with staff from both Operations and Maintenance to identify opportunities for improvement. Prioritize, request, and ensure equipment maintenance and repairs are completed to maximize efficiency.

9. Responsible for all supervisory activities including, but not limited to, scheduling, performance, hiring, discipline coaching, training and development and termination recommendations.

10. Supervise and assist in the training of production processes. Provide training, guidance and coaching to employees in a consistent and constructive manner.

11. Communicate shift activity to Team Members and keep them informed of the changes to equipment, processes and materials / supplies.

12. Possess the ability to lead and motivate a team of people to succeed by utilizing appropriate interpersonal styles including leading by example, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction

13. Adhere to established staffing model and schedule by meeting staffing requirements, and managing start, stop, and transition times.

Requirements and Duties:

1. Leadership - ability to lead, provide direction, and make sound decisions to move production to achieve excellence.

2. Demonstrates personal effectiveness - ability to influence staff to accomplish operational objectives.

3. Ability to adapt and flourish in shifting circumstances.

4. Teamwork - promotes teamwork and is an example to others; ability to relate to all levels of the organization.

5. Proficiency of USDA, FDA and SQF Regulations

6. Demonstrate initiative and support for continuous improvement in all areas of production and leadership

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

1. High School/ G.E.D

2. Minimum 5-7 year experience on the field (Food Industry is a plus)

3. Bilingual (English/Spanish)

4. Experience with USDA products highly desired
