We are seeking a PIP Defense Attorney to manage insurance litigation matters from inception through resolution. This role offers the opportunity to handle meaningful cases, develop litigation strategies, and take ownership of a full caseload while working alongside an experienced legal team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage PIP files from initial assignment through conclusion, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, negotiations, trials, and appeals
  • Develop effective litigation strategies by analyzing legal and factual issues
  • Draft discovery requests and responses, review medical records, and handle depositions
  • Present and cross-examine lay and expert witnesses
  • Manage assigned files independently while meeting deadlines and case objectives
  • Collaborate with support staff on litigation-related administrative matters

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active Michigan law license and membership in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
  • 2+ years of PIP litigation experience preferred
  • Experience handling auto insurance defense claims is a plus
  • Knowledge of Michigan discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable insurance law
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills
  • Comfortable working in a paperless legal environment with legal technology tools
