Job description

JOB TITLE: Subcontract Administrator - DEFENSE 
LOCATION: Lexington, KY
PAY RATE: $35-41.53/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Clearance: Ablility to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifying Questions:

  • Are you a U.S. person as defined under ITAR regulations?

  • Do you meet the educational and experience requirements for this role?

  • Can you commute to the job location or relocate if necessary?

Summary: 

  • Manage subcontracts from request for proposal (RFP) through contract creation and lifecycle management.

  • Monitor cost, schedule, and performance of subcontracts.

  • Implement supplier corrective actions and “return to green” efforts as needed.

  • Provide status reports to senior and executive leadership.

  • Collaborate with Compliance to support audits.

  • (LG4/LG5 only) Mentor and provide guidance on complex subcontracts, including Spec/SOW-driven contracts.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

  • Experience in government procurements/subcontract acquisitions (dependent on level).

  • Comprehensive understanding of global supply chain and complex government procurement practices.

  • Experience analyzing cost/price data and establishing negotiation positions.

  • Knowledge of proposal evaluations, price/cost analysis, and FAR/DFAR regulations.

  • Experience with Statements of Work (SOW), collective bargaining agreements (CBA), and labor contracts.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven experience leading teams and cross-functional projects, with critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of standard U.S. Department of Defense contract types.

  • SAP systems experience.

  • Ability to establish new suppliers and manage supplier performance.

  • Understanding of Special Operations Forces (SOF) contracts.

  • Experience with competitive and non-competitive price agreements.

  • Experience leading complex negotiations and subcontract management teams (SMT).

  • Effective communication with executive leadership, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
