Logistics Analyst I

Department: Govt Customer-Norfolk

Location: Norfolk, VA


TENICA is looking to hire a Logistics Analyst I with a Secret Clearance.


Hybrid – In-person Mon & Fri; Remote Tues-Thurs 


The Logistics Analyst I provides logistics support services for a federal customer in Norfolk, VA, primarily by accepting requests for new Items and Companies to be added to the work management system (Maximo), researching the Item or Company, and creating or updating records in the system. This position currently performs tasks remotely within established and specific guidelines, using good judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate guidelines, references and procedures for application. This position uses directives and instructions from DLA, NAVFAC, NAVSUP, and Maximo procedure manuals, and comprises fact-finding, review of information and making recommendations to resolve discrepancies. Situations in which existing guidelines cannot be applied or that significantly deviates from stated guidelines are referred to a supervisor.

The Logistics Analyst I will be able to plan and carry out successive steps and handle problems and deviations in the work assignment in accordance with governing supply procedures and standards. Work is evaluated for technical soundness and conformity to policy and requirements. Completed work is subject to spot check for accuracy and compliance with directives, procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the Navy and NAVFAC.
  • Ability to conduct extensive and technical searches for information and material and to construct records for item management.
  • Working knowledge of property inventory techniques, maintenance of asset records, and accountability.
  • Knowledge of local, Navy, and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) automated systems, e.g., Fed Log, OneTouch, Federal Supply Class Assignment, GSA Advantage, and Maximo supply systems.
  • Ability to perform duties assigned independently without specific technical direction after initial training.
  • Effective communicator, experienced in Customer Service, responding to email and telephone calls.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office Professional applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent military experience.
  • 2 years of related experience.
  • SECRET clearance
