Job description

SUMMARY

Engineering Technicians are in a hands-on work environment performing a variety of tasks to support the engineering, manufacturing and production teams. Daily responsibilities may include test set up, mechanical assembly, receiving support, production, packaging and shipping. The Senior Engineering Technician reports to the Technician Supervisor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Performs and oversees mechanical assembly according to verbal and written instructions
  • Supports engineering testing, manufacturing efforts
  • Reads and understands blueprints, schematics and technical diagrams
  • Performs test planning and execution: test design and analysis; writing procedures, test plans, and data collection
  • Possesses a good understanding of all aspects of environmental testing
  • Assists with packaging and shipping of hardware and equipment
  • Safely uses chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required
  • Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions
  • Works effectively with teams of engineers and technicians
  • Interacts with technical staff for proposal development and project performance
  • Demonstrates leadership and provides guidance to more junior Engineering Technicians

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Required Education: High School diploma
  • Preferred Education: Associates Degree or higher
  • Required Experience: Strong proficiency with basic hand and power tools, excellent mechanical aptitude, experience with test data acquisition and instrumentation
  • Preferred Experience: Knowledge of military and commercial industry specifications
  • Typically possesses: 8+ years’ experience in aerospace, defense experience, or manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated team or project leadership experience preferred
  • Possesses strong computer background and familiarity with common office applications
  • Demonstrates passion for the aerospace and defense industry, and strong desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Demonstrates an exceptional work ethic and attitude
  • Physical requirements of this position include moderate physical and repetitious work, standing for extended periods of time, the use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
