Summary

The server performs fine-dining service points in any Food and Beverage outlet to which he/she is assigned. Adapting to the specific service taking, the Server offers hospitable, informed and prompt service.

Essential Functions:

  • Sets up kitchen and dining room work areas in a timely, thorough and consistent manner. Set-up work is completed in a capacity to handle more business than projected.
  • Maintains all work areas in a neat, efficient manner during service.
  • Presents a knowledgeable, professional demeanor at all times during service.
  • Prioritizes, organizes and maintains efficiency as work volume fluctuates.
  • Uses high level technical service practices.
  • Displays knowledgeable command of menu items and products offered in his/her outlet, as well as specific Lodge and general local and greater area information.
  • Knowledgeable of hours, styles, and menu items for all department outlets.
  • Concise, effective, respectful communication practices with all co-workers, including all kitchen staff in effort to expedite food order entry, pick-up and service.
  • Ensure adherence to all house policies and state regulations for liquor service and smoking.
  • Accurate, prompt and responsible collection of payment and signed guest checks at conclusion of guest service.
  • Accurate, consistent reconciliation of all receipts, sales reporting and shift close paperwork.
  • Clean up, break down and re-set of work station and dining room performed thoroughly and efficiently.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Informed of Lodge and department policies, events and activities with ability to respond to any inquiries.
  • Know work schedule and follow department policies on schedule requests and shift swapping.
  • Practice safety, good judgment and responsibility regarding work place hazards and handling all department and Lodge property and equipment.
  • Make all interactions mutually respectful and generally contribute to a constructive atmosphere.
  • See responsibility for high standards of presentation to the guest as extending property-wide and beyond your immediate work area. Examples include policing of trash; being self-motivated to provide additional dusting or vacuuming as needed in your work area.
  • Strive to always be ready for unexpected high business volume, including assisting in other outlets when they are unexpectedly busy.
  • Contribute to department and Lodge goals.
  • Read, know and follow content of employee handbook.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills Preferred:

One - Two years industry experience in server capacity, preferably In fine dining establishment emphasizing quality in a broad range of food and beverage items and precise technical service.

Good communication, organization and concentration skills.

Attain Utah state approved liquor handler’s certification within 90 days of hire and produce and retain certificate.

Ability to work with other servers and all other department staff as a team to attain consistent execution of department standards.

Ability to lift, push & pull up to 50 pounds. 

Ability to stand/ walk for extended periods of time.
