Job description

Maintenance Janitorial

The Maintenance Department is responsible for ensuring the physical cleanliness and sanitation of Hope facilities. The highest possible state of cleanliness must be maintained at all times. The Maintenance Janitorial performs scheduled deep-cleaning functions beyond the scope of daily housekeeping functions assigned to direct care staff. This is a bargaining unit position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Maintain deep-cleaning schedule for each area/unit/department.
  • General maintenance of grounds, drives, and walkways, including weather related clean-up.
  • General maintenance of exteriors of buildings, gutters, vents, fans, windows, and doors.
  • General maintenance of interiors of buildings, floor care, painting, bathroom cleaning, vents, and lightbulbs.
  • Dust and clean non-ceramic tile walls and woodwork.
  • Clean furniture including beds, chairs, sofas, etc.
  • Clean sub-kitchens and appliances.
  • Follow proper sanitation procedures to clean bathrooms including stalls, stools, sinks, countertops, tub/showers, fixtures, and tile.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid IL driver’s license.

WHAT WE PREFER

  • Previous experience in Janitorial Services.
  • Certified Training Program.
