We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer (ESY3) to support a large support services contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command. ***YOU MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE *** ย  Position Description: You will provide support to the Program and Deputy Program Manager of a 200 person contractor team that includes subcontractor personnel.

Work location and telework: The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. ย Teleworking may be possible with the customers' approval but will need to evolve as the work relationships evolve.

Responsibilities and Duties: A Systems Engineer, also known as lead systems analyst, a network engineer who can also program, or a software engineer who can also manage networks, is an IT professional who oversees the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. These products are often sophisticated systems that run on the web. The systems engineer is responsible for integrating various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices.

Duties of a systems engineer typically include managing the development cycle associated with producing a resilient software, hardware and web application, including specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance. Systems engineering is like putting together a puzzle, matching varied pieces together to make one cohesive whole. Systems engineers are concerned with the "big picture" of a project in addition to technical aspects and must consider details like cost, schedules and social issues that may be associated with a project.

ย  Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience: * Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance * Certification requirements: None * Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field * of 7 Years experience working with at least one of the following: Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience. ย  Preferred / Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience: * Active Secret Clearance * Project Management Professional (PMP) * Experience: * * Demonstrated knowledge of Navy/DOD policy and guidance * System Engineering Technical Reviews * Technology readiness and technical performance measures * Combat Systems Integration and requirements decomposition * Systems Engineering * Program Protection * Risk Management Process * Specialized experience: No other specialized experience required ย  Travel Requirements: * Travel should be infrequent but include occasion trips to support government efforts at East and West Coast naval-centric areas like Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA. ย  Compensation: Compensation at Decision Technologies, Inc.
