We're looking for Slabbed Coin Authenticators to join our team to inspect and determine authenticity of coin labels and holders (PCGS, NGC, CACG, ANACS, ICG). Ideal candidates will be extremely detail orientated, have comprehensive knowledge of the coin grading industry and exhibit critical thinking skills in a fast-paced assembly line-type of environment. Preferred applicants will have one-to-three years of experience handling and/or authenticating coin collectibles certified by third-party grading companies either as dealer or collector.
You'll report to the Authentication Manager and work from our Santa Ana office. The shift will be from 6:00am-2:30pm.
Onsite Requirement: This role requires you to be onsite in the office 5 days per week.
What You'll Do:
  • Become an expert in encapsulated authentication processes and standards
  • Become an expert in the encapsulation of coins and methods used by coin grading companies
  • Inspect and determine authenticity of the label and holder for coin grading brands in an expedient manner but without compromising accuracy
  • Maintain individual authentication production goals
  • Improve knowledge and skill with personal research and experience
  • Stay up-to-date with current industry developments and news, especially as it pertains to new label and holder counterfeiting methods circulating the market
  • Share knowledge to help improve the skill of the Authentication and Brand Protection teams
  • Assist the PCGS Brand Protection team if/when necessary

Who You Are:
  • Possess general working knowledge of numismatics
  • Knowledgeable of the third-party coin grading companies and their product branding and packaging methods and techniques
  • Possess first-hand experience handling and inspecting encapsulated coin collectibles certified by any of the top ranking third-party grading companies
  • Knowledgeable in the various counterfeiting methods of labels and holders in the card industry for all third-party grading companies
  • Basic understanding and comprehension of intellectual property rights, terms and expressions
  • Exhibit strong research skills with a key attention to detail on defects and misalignments
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organization skills to achieve production goals and maximize productivity
  • Detail oriented and ability to focus on one task over long stretches of time

Physical Requirements:

Hourly Range: The hourly range for this position is $25-$30. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
