Job Description:

The Equipment Management Valuation Manager is responsible for directing the Equipment Management Group (EMG) Valuation team, which provides valuations for new and existing Leasing transactions. Importantly, this involves setting Residual Values (RV) for new lease transactions and periodically assessing the recoverability of RVs in the existing portfolio. The role also involves setting direction, policies/procedures and guidelines to maximize the team's efficiency and to meet the needs of the Global Leasing business

Responsibilities:

  • Provides inspection, coaching and feedback to motivate, differentiate and improve performance, while assessing talent and building bench strength for roles across the organization
  • Actively manages expenses and budgets in alignment with objectives, making sound financial decisions
  • Delivers results by effectively prioritizing, inspecting and appropriately delegating team work
  • Leads a team of valuation professionals, optimizing knowledge of equipment markets and applying market intelligence to risk/return parameters of new transactions; evaluates new target markets and supports analysis, winning, and management of new equipment investment opportunities
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external customers to support the growth of the Leasing portfolio; demonstrates knowledge of a wide range of equipment types and markets, including Trucking, Mining and Construction, Rail, Materials Handling, Warehouse Equipment, Energy, Marine, and Manufacturing
  • Manages the evaluation process for a high volume of assets and transactions across diverse equipment types (excluding aircraft), ensuring adherence to EMG policies, procedures, controls, and analytical principles

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in equipment management, equipment valuation, equipment finance, or a closely related function
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing professionals within a risk, credit, valuation, or asset management environment
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment markets, asset valuation methodologies, and lifecycle risk considerations, preferably within a bank-owned or regulated leasing platform
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating complex equipment assets across multiple industries and market cycles
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment when forming value conclusions in the presence of incomplete, evolving, or conflicting information
  • Demonstrated experience producing defendable valuation conclusions supported by market research, data analysis, and documented assumptions
  • Experience translating technical equipment information, market data, and valuation inputs into clear business recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize work and manage deliverables in a highvolume, transactiondriven environment
  • Experience operating within defined risk, control, and governance frameworks, including adherence to policies, procedures, and escalation protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt and leverage internal systems, tools, and data platforms to support valuation, portfolio, and reporting needs

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
  • Professional accreditation such as American Society of Appraisers (ASA)
