Job description

Madison East is currently hiring experience servers and bartenders. On the job training and we are making some exciting additions. Currently already have Trivia night, Monkey Business Improv Comedy night, and are doing more private bookings. Join now as the season changes!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The server welcomes guests, provides a relaxing and fun environment for guests to have a meal. Position includes either serving drinks containing alcohol and/or pouring/mixing drinks with alcohol

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude
  • Speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, or to respond to questions and complaints
  • Inform guests of establishment specialties and features
  • Knowledge of the menu including food and drinks, with ability to make suggestions
  • Ensuring tables are enjoying their experience and acting to correct any problems
  • Collecting payment, discounting properly, returning change accurately
  • Help with food preparation when necessary i.e. sides, sauces, etc.
  • Help coworkers when possible i.e. running food, answering phones, dressing salads, collecting dishes for bar and bus tub etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and cleans restrooms when necessary
  • Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup
  • Maintain positive attitude and work well under pressure, with customers and co-workers
  • Ability to serve alcohol in a responsible and safe manner for guests and staff alike.
  • Follow alcohol service guidelines including verifying age, not over-serving, refusing service to guests arriving who seem to have been over-served elsewhere.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Possess the ethics and positive attitude that support our values and culture
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
  • Punctual and reliably shows for scheduled shifts
  • Must have working cell phone
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Available to work nights, weekends and/or holidays
  • Able to handle money accurately
  • Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised
  • Computer proficient and able to use POS system
  • Actively participating as a positive team member where solutions are everyone's goal and a welcoming, positive work environment is a top priority for all
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have or be willing to obtain bartender license

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Will frequently walk, bend, stoop, carry and lift
  • Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments
  • Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic.
  • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: eggs, soy, gluten and dairy
  • Must be able to serve alcohol responsibly and follow legal and safe alcohol handling procedures
