The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections is seeking qualified applicants for Radiologic Technologist positions (levels 1-3). This position performs diagnostic imaging procedures, ensures patient safety, and maintains accurate medical records within a secure healthcare environment.
Applicants must possess appropriate radiologic technology credentials and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a clinical setting.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Radiologic Technologist license or temporary permit.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
  • Performs all x-ray treatment, including IVPs (Intravenous Pyelograms), and examinations under the supervision of a Radiologic Technologist Supervisor or the attending physician on the assigned shift. Assist with examinations, and on occasion prepares and delivers reports to ordering physician. Assures the quality of all x-rays, including the most complex, made on that shift.
  • Performs daily equipment checks to ensure that all radiographic equipment is safe and ready to use.
  • Differentiates between film, CR, and DR imaging formats and adjusts techniques accordingly.
  • Reviews images to ensure the image quality and patient positioning are within established standards.

Work Environment:
Employee will work with - Adult male inmates of all custody levels - minimum, medium, maximum (death row) and protective custody.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
  • Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
  • An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
  • This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
