Job description

Core Responsibilities

1. Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

2. Oversees the network team, which provides network services, including designing, installing, configuring, and integrating new network technologies. Ensures network installations meet standards and align with the divisional strategy.

3. Manages the resolution of the most complex issues elevated from Support Center and Technical Services groups. Ensures problem identification, escalation, and resolution occurs in an expedient manner on all platforms.

4. Oversees the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures, system monitoring and automation, and troubleshooting activities. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement. Ensures the maintenance of the telecom network documentation repository.

5. Participates in the development of short and long term department goals. Implements operational plans to achieve department objectives. Ensures service level commitments are clearly understood to meet business needs.

6. Manages the testing, evaluation, and selection of vendor products and manages relationships with vendors.

7. Ensures compliance with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures within the team, an ensures deliverables meet Information Security Requirements.

8. Manages the team responsible for enterprise DDI architectures, including authoritative, recursive, and hybrid DNS models.

9. Provides tactical and strategic leadership for global traffic management (GTM) solutions, including Akamai GTM, and their integration with enterprise DNS platforms.

10. Enforces standards for DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (DDI) resiliency, availability, scalability, and performance to support critical enterprise and customer facing applications.

11. Manges and operates the team responsible for DDI architectures, including DNS views, zone design, delegation models, DHCP scopes, IPAM workflows, and role based access controls.

12. Ensures DDI and traffic management architectures support disaster recovery, geo redundancy, application failover, and automation driven recovery scenarios.

13. Enforces patterns for secure DNS architectures, including DNS security controls, segmentation, and integration with enterprise security and zero trust initiatives.

14. Leads the integration of DDI platforms with automation and orchestration tools, enabling API driven DNS/IP lifecycle management and infrastructure as code workflows.

15. Partners with network, application, cloud, and security teams to ensure DDI designs align with enterprise reliability, security, compliance, and operational governance objectives.

16. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten years related work experience. Network experience preferred.

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of DNS architecture, DDI services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), and enterprise DNS operations.

  • Management experience governing network platforms for enterprise scale deployments.

  • Experience maintaining global traffic management solutions, including Akamai GTM, and their interaction with enterprise DNS ecosystems.

  • Knowledge of DNS automation, API driven provisioning, and lifecycle management in large scale environments, including understanding of IaC pipelines.
