Job description

Technology Investment banking is a core business line of GLBA; responsible for the origination and execution of all tech related investment banking transactions by Societe Generale Americas. The emphasis will be the broader software sector within Technology Investment Banking.  This will include equity origination [IPO's Follow-Ons], M&A and Leveraged Finance debt origination.  The group is fully integrated into the broader bank and will work closely with our product group and on a cross-border basis with groups in Europe and Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

         Work closely with ECM, DCM & M&A to organize our content and focus on the Software sector

         Selectively expand coverage on an as needed basis into adjacent subsectors to software such as fintech, services and internet

         Aid the md in the expansion of client outreach, marketing and deal origination

         Participate in client presentations, lead deal execution with both internal teams as well as clients

         Keep abreast of market developments, capital markets activity, M&A announcements and investor sentiment around software.

         Point person on the coverage team responsible for organizing and putting together client presentations, marketing-materials and relevant pitches for new business

         Conduct and model a broad range of corporate financing alternatives and due diligence for client transactions

         Oversee the associate and analyst team, ensure quality and accuracy of key foundational items such as comps, financial models, and various analytical aspects of software coverage

         Build strong relationships with colleagues in Europe and Asia, and among the U.S. banking teams

Technical Skills:

  •  Financial statement and credit analysis

  • Corporate finance and financial accounting

  • Computer literacy (MS Office)

Competencies:

  • Strong presentation skills, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to work in a team structure

  • Capacity to understand complex financial structures and familiarity with credit and related legal documentation

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, pressure orientated environment and deliver under tight deadlines

  • Solid understanding of financial markets

Qualifications:

Experience Needed:

  • 6 years of prior experience as an analyst or associate in an IB position; evidence of deal execution, experience across M&A, equities and DCM

  • Experience with leverage finance capital markets or syndication

  • Client Presentation and Engagement Skill

Educational Requirements:

  • MBA from a competitive program with a preference for degrees in business, finance and/or accounting
