Commercial Carpenter

As a DCAMM-certified firm, we take a collaborative, expertise-driven approach to every project. We are currently seeking a skilled Commercial Carpenter to join our growing team and contribute to high-impact projects across the education, healthcare, industrial, and corporate sectors.

The Role

We are looking for a versatile, self-motivated professional capable of executing frame-to-finish carpentry with precision. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can work independently or lead a team while maintaining the high standards of safety and professionalism BSI is known for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Execution: Perform metal framing, install fire-rated blocking, and hang acoustical ceilings.
  • Finish Work: Install high-end millwork, countertops, and hardware.
  • Openings: Install knockdown and welded door frames; hang metal/wood doors and install all associated hardware.
  • Drywall & Finishing: Hang drywall and perform professional-grade taping, joint compound application, and patching.
  • Project Coordination: Read and interpret blueprints, manage the scope of work, and coordinate the scheduling of on-site trades.
  • Site Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant job site at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in commercial carpentry (preferred).
  • Licensing: Must possess a Massachusetts Construction Supervisors License (or be willing to obtain one).
  • Certifications: OSHA 10 required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in frame-to-finish carpentry and the ability to interpret complex blueprints.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for seamless interaction with team members and clients.
  • Physicality: Ability to perform demanding labor and lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Logistics: Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and your own professional toolset.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
