DC Power Installation Technician

Location: Multiple Cities, USA

Compensation:$22 - $35 per hour based on experience.

This jobrequires travel,per diem and other travel expenses are in addition to base pay. Individual residing in Colorado, Texas, Wyoming, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota & Iowa are preferred.

NNSI is a trusted service provider of DC Power engineering and installation services. Since our inception in 1989 we have been serving the telecommunications industry nationally. Currently we are looking for talented Level 2 through Level 4 DC Power telecommunication technicians to join our team.

Job duties include the installation of multiple DC Power platforms to include but not limited to:

  • Provide and maintain a safe, clean working environment at all times.
  • Possess the ability to coordinate deliveries and pickups and perform inventory checks of project equipment and materials.
  • Delivery and installation of common systems relay racks, cabinets, battery stands, auxiliary framing and cable rack in a central office/data center environment.
  • Delivery and installation of BDFB's, DC Power plants (distribution, rectification, termination bars), batteries (wet cell and VRLA), Power system monitor and controllers in a central office/data center environment.
  • Cable running, forming, stitching, connecting cold and hot type connections*.
  • Commission, test and turn up multiple manufacturers' equipment*.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand engineering packages, including blueprint style drawings.
  • Complete and submit project "in progress" and "project completion" paperwork.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate well with customers, engineers, project managers and other business units.
  • Possess the ability to track hours and cost on projects to maintain revenue and margin requirements.

*Service and safety affecting hot work is only to be performed by a Level 4 lead installer.

Preferred candidates will have:

  • Minimum three years of experience and familiar with industry standards equivalent to Telcordia GR 1275.
  • Valid driver's license, ability to transport project material via company supplied vehicles. (Additional incentive added for transport and logistics of batteries)
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs safely and un-assisted.
  • Must be able to travel within the assigned region based on home location.
  • Must be a reliable self-starter with good communication skills.
