Job description

Department: Operations

Reports To: Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

To assist DC Operations Manager in the day-to-day duties and ensure all daily job functions are completed. To assist Operations Manager in assuring that all inbound and outbound product is pulled, packaged, loaded, and shipped with 100% accuracy.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • At minimum, the employee can expect to pick up and place on a pallet 560 pieces (or cartons) over an eight hour period weighing on average 40-50 lbs.
  • Fall protection device weight limitation is 310 lbs.
  • Pieces (or cartons) may be picked up from heights ranging from as low as sitting on the ground to shoulder height.
  • Needs to be able to twist or contort their body from a side to side motion as if you were throwing bags of sand.
  • Prints Load Reports and assign to warehouseman.
  • Process driver's paperwork and ensure it's filled out complete and filed daily.
  • Assists Operations Manager in search for product if warehouseman cannot locate.
  • Assigns pick locations as needed -- from sheets turned in by warehouse.
  • Assists in double checking all orders.
  • Coordinates outbound and inbound freight by taking appointment, calling carriers to pick up loads, and ensuring all product ships ASAP.
  • Communicates with office sales personnel on shipping issues, problems, light trucks, and orders that will not ship.
  • Coordinates container delivery and inbound/outbound process.
  • Assists in pulling and receiving orders when needed.
  • Assists in stocking when needed.
  • Assists in warehouse re-organization of isles when needed.
  • Assists in looking for more efficient ways of daily functions.
  • Coordinates with pack house to ensure items needed for 100% ship rate are covered.
  • Maintains DOT maintenance on trucks and trailers and coordinate with drivers and vendors on issues.
  • Maintains Drivers Med Cards & Licenses.
  • Performs Cycle counts as instructed.
  • Prints Delivery tickets / Driver Trip Sheets.
  • Assists in finding quotes for basic warehouse expenses as well as special needs.
  • Covers for Operations Manager when he is out.
  • Responsible for coordinating will call orders in safe and service friendly manner.
  • Responsible for the maintaining and caring for company owned or leased equipment.
  • Accountable and responsible for high standards of warehouse cleanliness and organization.
  • Performs most of the Operations Manager or Supervisor duties during periods of absence.

Physical Demands:

  • Constant sitting, reaching outward, grasping, and speaking.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and manually manipulating.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment would be considered normal for warehousing operations.
