To thrive as a Database Administrator, you need strong knowledge of database management, data modeling, and SQL, typically supported by a degree in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL, as well as certifications like Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, is often required. Collaborating closely with developers and IT teams also helps in identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing best practices.
