Position Summary

Our client, a premier structural engineering firm specializing in large-scale data centers, commercial, institutional, and aviation projects, is seeking a highly detailed Miscellaneous Steel Checker for their Brentwood, TN office. You will serve as the final quality control authority, ensuring that shop drawings for complex miscellaneous steel—including stairs, handrails, ladders, and platforms—are 100% accurate, fabricator-ready, and fully compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Perform technical reviews of structural and miscellaneous steel shop and erection drawings for accuracy, fit, and completeness.
  • Technical Compliance: Verify all designs strictly adhere to AISC, OSHA, and local building code requirements.
  • Miscellaneous Focus: Review high-complexity assemblies such as industrial stairs, guardrails, ladders, sump pit frames, and specialized medical/aviation supports.

  • Background: A strong understanding of the fabrication and erection process; prior "shop floor" or field experience is highly valued.
  • Attention to Detail: An exceptional ability to identify dimensional errors, material discrepancies, and connection conflicts.

Why Join This Team?

  • Unrivaled Benefits: One of the most competitive PTO packages in the industry (3 weeks to start), plus comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Stability & Growth: Join a prominent data center structural engineering firm during a period of significant national expansion.
