Job description

About the Company
BMI is a mission-driven organization at the forefront of music rights and creator advocacy. Celebrating over 80 years of service to songwriters, composers, music publishers and businesses, BMI is a global leader in music rights management. Currently representing the public performance rights in over 25 million musical works created and owned by more than 1.4 million artists. BMI negotiates music license agreements and distributes the fees it generates as royalties to its affiliated writers and publishers when their songs are publicly performed.
About the Role
About BMI
Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) is a global leader in music rights management, representing more than one million songwriters, composers, and music publishers. As we continue modernizing our people technology landscape, we're looking for a transformational HR technology leader who can help shape the future employee experience.
Position Summary
The Senior Manager, HR Technology & HRIS Transformation is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for defining and executing BMI's HR technology vision. Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, this individual will own the Dayforce ecosystem while leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that simplify processes, automate manual work, and improve the employee experience.
This role is ideal for a builder who thrives in ambiguity, can influence across functions without direct authority, and is equally comfortable developing a multi-year technology roadmap and rolling up their sleeves to execute. Success requires balancing strategic thinking with operational excellence, partnering closely with HR, IT, Finance, Payroll, and external vendors to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the overall HR technology strategy, roadmap, and governance for Dayforce and the broader HR technology ecosystem.
• Lead enterprise-wide HR technology transformations from business case through implementation, stabilization, adoption, and optimization.
• Transform manual, fragmented HR processes into scalable automated solutions.
• Serve as the executive advisor to HR leadership on HR technology strategy, digital transformation, and workforce technology trends.
• Personally lead configuration decisions, testing, process design, and system optimization when needed.
• Develop business cases and technology roadmaps aligned with organizational priorities.
• Partner with IT, Payroll, Finance, Security, Legal, and business leaders to deliver integrated solutions.
• Build strong relationships with implementation partners while holding vendors accountable for scope, quality, timelines, and outcomes.
• Drive organizational change, stakeholder engagement, training, and adoption for new technology initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, workflow automation, employee self-service, analytics, and intelligent knowledge management to improve efficiency and employee experience.
• Ensure data governance, security, compliance, reporting accuracy, and system integrity across HR platforms.
• Lead and develop the HRIS team while fostering accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of progressive HRIS or HR technology experience, including deep Dayforce expertise.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise HR technology transformations and large-scale implementations.
• Experience supporting global HR technology initiatives across multiple countries.
• Proven success moving organizations from manual processes to automated, scalable solutions.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Experience managing external implementation partners and technology vendors.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think strategically while remaining deeply engaged in execution.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience implementing AI-enabled HR solutions and employee self-service capabilities.
• Experience integrating HRIS with ATS, Payroll, LMS, Identity Management, and enterprise applications.
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience building HR technology roadmaps following mergers, acquisitions, or organizational transformation.
Core Competencies
• Transformation Leadership
• Strategic Agility
• Executive Influence
• Technology & AI Innovation
• Operational Excellence
• Vendor Leadership
• Scrappiness and Bias for Action
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
What Success Looks Like in Your First 12-18 Months
• Establish a clear multi-year HR technology roadmap.
• Improve Dayforce adoption and user experience.
• Reduce manual processes through automation.
• Launch practical AI-enabled employee self-service capabilities.
• Strengthen cross-functional partnerships and vendor performance.
• Deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, data quality, and employee experience.
Why BMI
This is an opportunity to build-not simply maintain. You'll help shape the future of HR technology at an iconic organization by modernizing systems, leading meaningful transformation, and introducing innovative technologies that improve how employees and leaders work every day.
