POSITION TITLE: Daycare Substitute
FLSA: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Daycare Director and Elementary Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As Needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working with children and parents from diverse backgrounds preferable.
  • Applicants will complete an internal training module before their first substitute assignment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Assist staff with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy
  • Maintain daily open communication with parents
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Report any suspected abuse to supervisor
  • Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment, reporting any accidents
  • Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials, supplies or toys
  • Attend inservice and staff meetings
  • Keep all appropriate records such as attendance and time sheets, accident reports, etc.
  • Meet all applicable liscensing regulations
  • Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor
