Job description

Star Mountain Learning Center is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and organized Kitchen Staff member to join our team! We are looking for someone who enjoys cooking, works well independently, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen.

Available Shifts:

  • 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Opening Shift)
  • 1:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Closing Shift)

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Weekends off
  • All major holidays off

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner according to our menu and food program guidelines.
  • Open the daycare (for the morning shift) and help ensure the center is ready for the day.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
  • Wash dishes, sanitize food preparation areas, and keep kitchen equipment clean.
  • Monitor food inventory and notify management when supplies are running low.
  • Properly store food and follow all food safety procedures.
  • Assist with kitchen-related cleaning duties and maintain compliance with health and licensing standards.
  • Order food and kitchen supplies for the week while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and ensuring all necessary items are stocked.

Qualifications:

  • Food Handler's Certificate required or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
  • Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Experience in food service, childcare, school cafeterias, or commercial kitchens is preferred but not required.
