YOUR MISSION
To craft high-performance trailers that scale IP, deepen fandom, and spark global attention through world-class storytelling, platform-native editing, and AI-powered creative intelligence.
As a Trailer Editor at FlightStory, you don't just cut footage - you engineer attention.
You'll use performance data to guide creative decisions, AI to accelerate workflows and enhance ideation, and storytelling to convert casual scrollers into lifelong fans. From the first frame to the final export, your edits won't just look good - they'll perform every time.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Narrative Engineering
  • World-class editorial instincts and understands how to build narrative arcs, emotional payoffs, and retention strategies within short-form edits
  • Can turn 90 minutes of footage into 90 seconds of pure story with clarity and rhythm

Post-Production
  • Fluent in the Adobe suite and complimentary
    Curious, critical, and confident not just testing AI tools but embedding them into your workflow
    Experienced across Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop

Performance-Driven Creativity
  • Understands and applies data insights from YouTube Studio, TikTok Analytics, and third-party tools (e.g. retention curves, CTR, CVR, audience drop-off)
  • Balances gut feel with evidence, knowing when to challenge the data and when to trust it

Creative Discipline & Ownership
Takes full ownership of their cut from first assembly to final export
  • Thrives in autonomy, executes under pressure, and communicates clearly

Cross-Functional Collaboration

DAY TO DAY
  • You'll read/watch the full recorded episode and take notes of the best moments that could make it into the trailer
  • Create a narrative (or script) from the notes that creates a clear and cohesive narrative that also meets the requirements of our Trailer checklist
  • Create the sequence, source music, craft the sound design and prepare broll plates for our Animator.
  • Work with the trailer team for 1%'s, text, ratios
  • Create experimental content to test various elements of the trailer

Own the full post-production process for trailers and teasers, shaping raw footage into bold, platform-first edits that drive retention, engagement, and cultural relevance
  • Build smart, emotionally resonant narratives from interviews, soundbites, music, and motion optimised for YouTube, Reels, and TikTok
  • Consistently create trailers that drive clear growth metrics across watch-through rate, shares, average view duration, and subscriber lift

2. Lead with Data-Informed Storytelling
  • Use performance data to optimise pacing, structure, and creative emphasis
  • Collaborate with the Growth and Strategy teams to interpret insights and apply learnings to future edits
  • Develop instinct and discipline around which storytelling choices drive performance and back those instincts with evidence

3. Build and Execute AI-Integrated Editing Workflows
  • Actively use tools like Runway, Descript, ElevenLabs, Fathom, Firefly, or in-house AI
  • Drive innovation by testing and refining new AI tools, building systems that make the trailer team faster and smarter

4. Collaborate and Uplift Team Quality
  • Bring creative direction, references, and smart solutions to brainstorms and edit huddles
  • Support junior editors and assistant editors by sharing systems, templates, and AI tools
  • Collaborate across creative, social, growth, and commercial teams to deliver trailers that elevate campaigns and IP
