Job description

Day Support Counselors in Prince William County: Join our team of professionals! We are an extremely service-oriented and client-focused non-profit organization supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Greater Prince William area. We are seeking a bright, dependable hard-working and compassionate Day Support Counselor to work at all our VOSAC program located in Triangle, Virginia 22172. Schedule Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, FT 40 hours/week, rate of pay $17/hour. We offer EXCELLENT benefits including zero out of pocket cost for medical insurance for full-time employees!

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Day Support Counselors will provide direct support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Must have experience working in the healthcare services field and able to lift up to 50 lbs. The Vocational and Skill Advancement Center (VOSAC) is a high intensity, center-based day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. VOSAC offers community inclusion, activities of daily living, and social development for adults who require support. Through volunteer work and community service, program participants have the opportunity to become engaged citizens. Our three VOSAC sites support individuals with medical needs while still providing participants the opportunity to integrate within their community.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS for Direct Support/Care Professionals: Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred. Written, communication and computer skills required. Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration (MAT), Medicaid Waiver, Human Rights, OSHA and Van Training. Criminal and Child Protective Services Background investigations conducted for all employees; must meet state of Virginia employment eligibility requirements. A valid Virginia Driver/s license, a licensed U.S. driver with a minimum if THREEE (3) years driving experience in the United States. Driving record must meet agencys vehicle insurance carrier requirements, the ability to attend and pass onsite training classes within the first 30 days of hire.
