Beacon Kalamazoo provides 24/7 emergency care and a Level II Trauma Center. We deliver care for serious life-threatening injuries/illnesses, and your everyday health needs, including labor and delivery. What You'll Do
As a Cardiac Telemetry - Stepdown Department Registered Nurse, you'll report to the Director or Manager to provide professional nursing services in the area of assignment, assess the needs of patients and initiates, and implement and evaluate individualized plans of care. You will collaborate with other professional, clinical, and ancillary staff in providing compassionate and quality care to patients.
Job Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the patient and/or family, and healthcare team, participate in open discussion to identify mutual goals based on the nursing assessment and nursing diagnosis.
  • Diagnose, treat and evaluate the human response to actual or potential health problems/needs.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the nursing plan of care and revise it as necessary.
  • Assess, detect, monitor and attempt to prevent complications associated with health situations or treatment plans.
  • Notify the physician of patient condition and response to nursing intervention appropriately and document this action.
  • Responsible for ensuring that patient's pain is assessed, treated, reassessed, documented and evaluated. Adheres to policies and procedures for Pain Management.
  • Responsible for delegation to other licensed and unlicensed care providers based on clinical nursing judgment and skill of the care provider.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Required Credential(s):
    • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Licensed Registered Nurse obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:
  • The Registered Nurse must have an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS) or RN Diploma at start date.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
