Optalis at Whitehall is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager who is passionate about leadership, quality care, and team development. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to play a key role in shaping resident outcomes, staff success, and unit culture.

As a Unit Manager, you’ll provide both clinical leadership and operational oversight, ensuring high standards of care while supporting and developing your nursing team.


What You’ll Do
  • Lead and support nursing care delivery for an assigned unit or clinical area

  • Oversee the full nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in alignment with state Nurse Practice Act standards

  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams to promote resident-centered care, regulatory compliance, and positive outcomes

  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff to promote growth, accountability, and excellence

  • Ensure nursing systems, workflows, and procedures are implemented effectively

  • Serve as a key point of communication for residents, families, and care teams


Leadership amp; Supervision
  • Supervise CNAs and nursing staff with a focus on education, support, and consistency

  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of nursing staff

  • Monitor performance, provide coaching, and address corrective actions when needed

  • Assist with staffing coordination, including coverage for absences

  • Contribute to a respectful, professional, and team-oriented work environment


What We’re Looking For
  • Active Nurse license (RN/LPN) in the state of Michigan

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred

  • Minimum 2 years Nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role

  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
