Job description

Micro Soldering Repair Technician

Location: Duluth, GA
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

Our client designs and supports some of the most advanced visualization and display technologies in the market. As a Micro Soldering Repair Technician, you’ll play a critical role in keeping high-value electronic systems operational by diagnosing and repairing circuit boards at the component level.

This is a hands-on, precision-focused position for someone who enjoys detailed work, problem solving, and restoring electronics that others might consider beyond repair. Your work directly reduces waste, shortens turnaround times, and improves overall product reliability.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform micro soldering and rework on surface-mount components
  • Diagnose board-level faults using schematics, board views, multimeters, microscopes, and diagnostic tools
  • Remove and replace micro components using soldering irons, hot air, and rework stations
  • Repair damaged pads, traces, and vias on densely populated PCBs
  • Inspect and test repaired boards to confirm functionality and quality standards
  • Document repair findings, root causes, and outcomes accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organized, ESD-safe workstation
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to improve repair processes and success rates

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience with micro soldering and board-level electronics repair
  • Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals and PCB layouts
  • Comfortable working under a microscope for extended periods
  • Ability to read schematics and board views
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with ESD safety practices

Work Environment

  • Bench-based technical repair setting
  • Extended periods of fine motor work under magnification
  • Detail-oriented, quality-focused environment

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Work on advanced, high-value electronic systems rather than commodity devices
  • Hands-on technical role with real impact on product reliability
  • Stable, well-equipped repair environment
  • Opportunity to deepen specialized skills in micro soldering and diagnostics
  • Supportive team culture focused on craftsmanship, quality, and continuous improvement

What’s Offered

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k)
  • Opportunities for skill development and career growth
  • Collaborative, innovation-driven workplace
