BreastScreen NSW Hunter New England is seeking specialist breast radiologist who is committed to providing best practice breast diagnostic imaging and procedural services for women attending for assessment clinics for diagnostic work- up of recalled lesions. You will be required to provide high quality compassionate care with the ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team and with other health professionals.
You will be committed to providing service and advice that is safe, effective, evidence based and patient centred and complies with the National Accreditation Standards of BreastScreen Australia, Breast Screen NSW Operating Standards, NSW Health Policy Directives and HNE LHD local policies.
BreastScreen NSW Hunter New England is part of the National Program, BreastScreen Australia, and is managed through Hunter New England Imaging on behalf of BSNSW and the Cancer Institute. We have 4 full time mobile screening units and 1 shared mobile unit, 3 fixed screening units located in East Maitland, Tamworth and Waratah, with Assessment Services based at the Tamworth and Waratah fixed sites only. The service is seeking applicants who are available to provide fly in and fly out assessment services at Tamworth fixed site, however, applicants available for assessment services at the Waratah fixed site may be considered. A willingness to participate in the reading of screening mammograms is desirable but not a requirement of appointment.
Our catchment area includes Lake Macquarie in the south to the Queensland border and covers the Northern Tablelands, the North West Slopes and Plains, the Lower Mid North Coast, the Hunter Valley and Newcastle.
Suitable applicants will have:
  • A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
  • Diagnostic breast imaging and procedural experience as demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in Breast Diagnostic Radiology and Breast Interventional Radiology.
  • Prior experience in a breast screening program is highly desirable but not essential.

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent & temporary full & part time positions.
