Job description

Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position supports the operation of expanded learning programs outside of the regular school day instructional time, including After School Education and Safety (ASES) and Expanded Learning Opportunity Programs (ELOP), by supervising students, facilitating enrichment and recreational activities, and maintaining a safe and engaging environment.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This classification is assigned to non-school day or expanded day programs and focuses on student supervision, enrichment, and engagement. While incumbents must meet district-established minimum qualifications which demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing and mathematics for an instructional aide to meet or exceed the requirements of high school seniors (grade 12), duties do not include primary responsibility for classroom instruction or direct support of certificated instructional programs.
QUALIFICATIONS Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
>Demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics at or above the level required of high school seniors
>Ability to meet district-established minimum qualifications for instructional aide equivalency pursuant to EC 8483.4 in non-classroom settings
Desirable:
Experience working with school-age children in group settings; youth development, recreation, or enrichment programs.
>First Aid/CPR certification (may be required within a specified timeframe)
>NCLB equivalency
This position is grant-funded position is funded through June 30, 2029.
This position is part of the Classified Employee Unit at MCUSD/MCOE and will be placed depending on experience on the Classified Employee Salary schedule. Range 14.
