A PART-TIME TEMPORARY Program Specialist is an essential member of our team, we invite you to apply and help contribute to CNLVโ€™S growing success! Please thoroughly review the information and selection process outlined below this announcement.

THE ROLE:
Under direct supervision, independently carries out programs for both indoor and outdoor parks and recreation activities.ย  Works directly with program participants in a physically active recreation program environment.ย  Recreation program assignments are varied and may include early childhood, aquatics, golf course, sports (adult and youth), class instruction, seniors, mobile recreation, special events, safekey (before and after school โ€“ elementary youth), and day camp.ย 
ESSENTIAL INFORMATIONย 
  • Part-Time/Temporary Position โ€“ This position is a part time/temporary position and DOES NOT include health or medical benefits. Hours for this position will not exceed 938 per calendar year.
  • Work Schedule โ€“ This position is scheduled to work Varies, (may be working an average of 18 hours per week during off season and 40+ hours during summer season โ€“ May through September). You must be able to work any shift (days, swings, or graveyard), any day of the week, to including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Hours will not exceed 935 per calendar year.ย 
  • Environment - Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50* pounds unassisted. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum age of 16 years old.
  • Any combination of education, training, volunteer or experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions the ability to assist with parks and recreation program services an entry level
  • Bilingual skills is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Must possess a valid Nevada State driverโ€™s license/identification Credential of have the ability to obtain, and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • Must possess a Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate withing two weeks of hire prior to performing the essential functions of position. NLS will provide training.
  • Must possess a Clark County Health Card (Food Handlers Card) within thirty (30) days of date of hire.

The selection process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards.
