Job Title: Travel Histotechnologist (HT / HTL)
Location: Atlanta, GA 30342
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Evening Shift (Monday-Friday, 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Additional Info:
  • Travel candidates only ( No local candidates within 50 miles)
  • Optional floating based on facility needs
  • No on-call requirement
Travel Weekly Gross pay: $1650 - $1738/ week (Includes taxable and non-taxable amount)
Job Summary:
We are Northside Hospital Atlanta is seeking an experienced Histotechnologist (HT/HTL) for a 13-week travel assignment in a busy Pathology Laboratory. The ideal candidate will have strong histology experience and be proficient in tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and pathology laboratory workflows.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive and accession pathology specimens into Cerner.
  • Collect tissue blocks from Pathologist Assistants (PA staff).
  • Process tissue specimens for histologic examination.
  • Embed tissue specimens and perform microtomy (sectioning).
  • Stain histology slides using routine and special staining techniques.
  • ssist with pathology, cytology, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) laboratory workflows.
  • Ensure quality control and accurate documentation throughout the histology process.
  • Follow all laboratory safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Histotechnologist experience.
  • ASCP HT or HTL certification required.
  • Successful completion of a formal Histology Technologist training program or an Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
  • Experience in pathology laboratory specimen processing and slide preparation.
  • Cerner experience preferred.
  • Previous travel experience preferred.
Holiday Requirement: must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).
