Job description

Overview
To serve as a leader within Chapel Hill Church by providing oversight to the Production Team and its volunteers. This includes overseeing audio, video, and lighting as integrated elements of worship, executed with excellence to support engagement and eliminate distraction. This role advances the church’s mission by shaping worship gatherings that communicate biblical truth, facilitate corporate worship, and lead people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Duties

  • Full oversight and responsibility for all production systems including audio, lighting, video, and livestream.
  • Ensure production environments reflect the church’s doctrine and worship philosophy.
  • Lead the Production Team as a ministry team, helping volunteers understand their role in leading worship.
  • Collaborate with Senior Pastor, Worship Arts Director, and Music Director to plan and shape worship services.
  • Continuously improve production systems, workflows, and training.
  • Manage production budget and resources.
  • Support midweek services and church-wide events.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of ministry objectives.

Requirements

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ, affirmation with Chapel Hill’s values and agreement with the EPC Essentials of the Faith (epc.org/about/beliefs).
  • Understanding of production as a ministry function.
  • Advanced knowledge of lighting, visual, video and audio systems, with a willingness to learn the unique systems at Chapel Hill. To include:
  • Lighting experience, including the ability to design and program lighting cues on a digital lighting board. Experience with the High-End Systems Hog 4 platform is preferred.
  • Live-streaming experience, including having worked with multiple cameras and a video switcher. Experience managing Resi broadcast hardware and Studio One DAW software is preferred.
  • Audio experience, including mixing for online broadcasts as well as front of house. Specific experience on an SSL L-Series console preferred.
  • Computer experience, including slide presentation software (such as ProPresenter, or Proclaim), Planning Center Online, and the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Ability to manage time, teams, and budgets effectively.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills including administrative skills for leading a team, managing email, appointments, and multi-tasking.
